In Tegal city, Central Java province, there is unique way of roasting satay. The ingredients used to make sate are must goat meats. In this city, satay should be roasting by men. They must wear special clothing that called beskap when roasting satay.

Beskap is a Javanese traditional clothes for men. This outfit consists of blangkon, beskap, selop, and jarik.

Not only that, sate should be eaten in odd number such as 1 skewer, 3 skewer, 5 skewer and so on. Sate are usually eaten with rices, cut onions, sliced tomatoes, soy sauce and crackers.
